Has anyone ever tried this? I just heard about these programs and were wondering if anyone knew if they were any good? They are free and I was thinking about giving them a shot.

PCMAG.com loved the firewall Review here. I have never really agreed with them on security though.

I've also seen where some people are claiming it installs malware. Article here.
 
I'm no security expert, but from the user side Comodo Firewall works great. Easy to configure, with a lot of advanced options as well.
 
If anything makes me decide to chuck the firewall I have--I will probably go with comodo--because any new decent software firewall involves learning to configure it.
And comodo does have a user forum that will shorten that process.
