Community Solar

I was looking into this, essentially you buy into a solar farm located in the area and get energy credits on your electric bill. They guarantee the leasing cost will be less than the money saved on your electric bill. There has to be a down side or risk, am I being too cynical? Does anyone know about this program?

There are a number of technologies that gain significant efficiency when based on a small community model. Solar, grey water handling, geothermal, wind power and digesters to name a few. I'm not familiar with that particular program and, would suggest you do some homework as with any investment.
