I want to show my coworker a commercial I saw advertising westerners (presumably Americans but maybe Europeans as well) moving to a specific city or province in China

I've seen it on CNBC. It looks somewhat like a low-budget cable company.

Anyone know what province it is or better yet, know where I can get a video of it?

Thanks

Been contemplating it. Wonder if Foxconn would hire me? I'd like to see what doing that for a year or so would be like.

I'd like to see what your return trip back to the states would be like. Specifically the part where you go through passport control:

"Sir, you've been in CHINA for the past year?" /hits silent alarm knee switch
"Zing HOW! That's "Yes, brother" in Chinese! /smiles Yeah man, working at Foxxcon, making the products from the Great People of China for your American lifestyle!" /bigger smiles
"Sir, if you could just step over here...no, no, leave your bags right there...someone will take them." /reaches for tazer

they need more people? :sneaky:

They need more people who are fluent in reading/speaking and especially writing in English. You know how good those instruction manuals are for those things you buy from China are.

BEIJING — When the best job Mikala Reasbeck could find after college in Boston was counting pills part-time in a drugstore for $7 an hour, she took the drastic step of jumping on a plane to Beijing in February to look for work.

Chinese companies 'rent' white foreigners
For a day, a weekend, a week, up to even a month or two, Chinese companies are willing to pay high prices for fair-faced foreigners to join them as fake employees or business partners.

If I was a Millennial right out of college and could not find a job in the US my ass would be in China rather quickly, you earn a living, adventure overseas and learn a different language and interact with different people etc... Cash is King.

You can get tons of money in any Asian country if you speak english.

I would probably do it myself if I simply couldn't find any work.

Well yes but you'd have to be able to speak Mandarin as well...

Not always. Many times they simply just want a person that can greet english speaking people "properly" or other things of the sort in english. Mastery of the native language is not always needed

Why would it be any weirder than anything else people choose to do for work? IMO I'm more suspicious of the people who want the job inspecting me while getting on a plane than I am someone wanting to go do some stupid ass shit in another country.
