Commercial HVAC info needed

I'm working on a class project that is looking at the energy efficiency of a local Wisconsin company. Part of that is the HVAC system.

Their current system is a Trane TTA180B (well, their condenser, I don't have any other model info available) which is about 20 years old. I am trying to find out the answer to a couple questions:

1) What is the current cost to run the unit?
2) What would be the cost to replace the unit with a standard system (SEER 13)?
3) What would be the cost to replace it with a high efficiency system (SEER 20)?

I can get that info from a local company, but I am trying to make sure that I am not missing something in regards to how to calculate savings/efficiency. See the links below.

I ran across this which indicates the savings would be one thing and this which shows the savings to be only a couple hundred per year.
 
The second link allows you to calculate the cost of running the unit.

Just plug in the proper numbers for all three units and see what the cost saving would be.

The first link shows you how to calcualte the efficiency.

The increased efficiency, times the cost of power, allows you to determine the savings.

Take the amount of savings and multiply that by the 20yr model to determine how much saving the each of the new units would do vs the old unit is costing.
 
there's no way to tell that given the info you have provided. It depends a lot on the type and size of building, the heat gain from occupants and contents, and environmental factors.

talk to a local mechanical engineer and see if any of them is willing to help you figure it out.
