Commercial gateways for text messaging

I'm thinking about coding a website that will involve sending text messages to users. I considered using the free email-to-sms service (1015552323@mobileprovider.com) that many major carriers provide, but since these text messages will include secure information (lets say passwords, for example), I'd rather not send them over email.

Does anyone have experience with commercial text messaging services? How much do they charge per message?
