I heard the price for the new Cobra is $80k. Anyone hear anything about it? Also heard rumours about dropping a supercharger on the cobra's v-10.

The price i have been hearing since the introduction of bringing the Ford GT40 was 150k. Ever since I first saw the firs show about the design phase on TLC (they actually showed the head designer and his drawings) I have always heard $150,000 for the Ford GT. That new Ford Shelby Cobra is a sweet car too.

My understanding was that, according to Ford, the GT would cost "significantly less than $150K". I have read $135K as a projected price. Not that it matters to me . . .

It is largely handmade. It has an all-aluminum body, a handbuilt engine and exhaust (courtesy of Rousch, if memory serves), huge Brembo brakes, suspension by Lotus, and lotsa other very spendy parts. Frankly the car offers a lot of value - nothing short of a Ferrari Enzo can consistenly beat one in acceleration (0-60 in 3.3 sec!), and it is probably the best-handling car ever built in the United States. The Top Gear review is really illuminating - the clip is available here. And anyone who is about to post about how your Lingenfelter or other tuner car beats it, please keep it to yourself!

Yeah, Top Gear said it handled like a Lotus. I want to know if he was being serious, or over exaggerating.

Obviously it was exaggeration but I don't think it was a lot of exaggeration.
