You mean Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, etc? Great games. Widescreen patch now available for the original. With a few tweaks, it runs surprisingly well for a DirectX 5 game. Don't make 'em like they used to!

Wow I remember this game, played it maybe in 2001 or '02. I didn't buy the expansion though. It was hard... I had to replay each mission so many times to figure out the best steps.. I don't think I finished this game.

I don't think people even posted video walkthroughs back then. It was probably a text file on one of the gaming sites.

I loved the Commandos: Behind enemy lines. It payed to be patent and watch the guards for a while. See their patterns, find the weakest link, and remove it.

Announcement for Windows 10 Users
Hi,

It has come to our attention that unfortunately, the Commandos series will not run on Windows 10.

The reason for this is the lack of support for the older version of Direct X used by the game (Version 5)

The difficulty of these games was pretty up there...
The first one was good, but the other ones were a PITA.

I want to go back and play it again, got the whole collection last year for like 3 dollars, you can play 1 mission the whole day just figuring out how to get through it because of the difficulty and some maps are huge which would take even longer to play.
They should make another one but in 1st person and hard like previous.

One that sprung to mind with a great story line was the "No one lives forever" series

Loved those games! I sometimes regret giving my disks away to my nephew after I was done playing. 🙂
Probably will buy another copy when I have time to play.
