I was wondering if Westwood studios is working on the next Command & Conquer or something brand new. Anyone have any idea?

EA kills everything they consume, if they do make something under the C&C name, it will suck horribly or at best not live up to what C&C Red Alert 1 was.

RIP Westwood

What's wrong with EA? Aside from obvious performance issues with their games, they have been generally OK with me. I've quite enjoyed the last 4 EA purchases I've made. I never liked Red Alert, but I like the engine the new one is going to be built on and I'll probably check it out.

Any info, links, screenshots? Or is it too early...

They've only announced it, nothing to show. Built on the same engine so it shouldn't take long to make.

On the same engine? That's no good considering the memory leak problems that plagued the last one.

Oh my goodness. I loved generals, but getting 25-30 fps with a xp 3200, 9800pro with 1 gig of ram wasn't fun. And the multiplayer slowed the game to a drag.

Well Battle for Middle-Earth is on that same engine and it runs perfectly smooth on my new rig on highest settings. My old rig crawls on lowest settings. It's certainly not an engine for older hardware.

the enhancements they made to BFME, while good,
isn't really saying much
the only time when the Generals engine chugged was when you had bazillions of tanks trying to all fit through that one tiny little bridge...
or when the enevitable person tried to see exacly what "nuking everything" would look like..
but, thanks to EAs inovations, instead of fixing the problems, they castrate the user, stupid command point limit...

Well you can mod the command points and it runs fine with a ton of troops actually. Limits to how many troops you can have is nothing new, even Starcraft had limits. Your assumption lacks evidence.
