Suppose I feel a bit numb on the issue and am just bothered by the change. I do appreciate that refusing change "just because it has always been that way" is not a good argument. Especially if the change is to prevent harm. Though I remain lost as to how this harmed anyone. Though I do not belong to any group that has any name to protect. I am an American. Full stop. That's it.

Trying to copyright all the names in existence and say we cannot use them seems a bit daft. Though we are Americans and we did Genocide these poor people. So this would be a special consideration perhaps, out of recognition and in respect of our shared history?

If they do change it, seems needless but oh well. No sweat off my back if they do.

In todays modern world when you can ask worldwide with social media platforms "Does anyone find this offensive?" The answer will always result in a yes.

Not offending everyone simply isn't possible. It's an unattainable and stupid aspiration - mostly because the people who find it offensive are incredibly stupid people.

I personally don't like it when foreign companies name their cars after national parks.

But as far I can tell no one actually asked Jeep to change the name.
