Coming to SF. Where can I crash (spend the night) cheap?

Hey all. I am for a conference in SF and the company pays. However I wanted to come a couple days early and need to pay my own lodging. Anyone know where a nice guy can find a cheap bed?

Over winter break, a few friends and I got a hotel off of priceline.com... $50/night at the Grosvenor Suites on Nob Hill... you get a kitchenette, a living room with a sofabed, and a separate bedroom with two queen beds. Parking was $20/day though =\ I then went up again for V-day weekend and got two nights at the Hilton at Union Square for $100/night which was a rip because the room was tiny. Just try priceline.com it works really well.

<< Go to a bar and ask one of the fellas there for a place to crash. I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige. >>

LOL🙂

This place is around the corner from my work, across the street from the Sony Metreon and walking distance to Union Square and Chinatown.

For $65 I don't know if you'll find much better.

edit: Oh yeah, it's a block from the Moscone center which is probably where your convention is. What is the convention?

Try to get into the cockpit on your way there, you're sure to get a room for a bit.

Sorry, can't contribute anything of value.

Try the local shelters. They'll house you for a few nights for free!

Now that's a hot deal! I know what I'm talking about since I grew up in Frisco 🙂

Geez,,,I'd like to go to that convention too. If you end up at the Mosser let me know. I work nights and can probably step out for a beer or something.

Heh heh...if you want *real* cheap, there's a youth hostel right in the middle of Union Square. Otherwise, I'd recommend getting something at least a few Bart stations away from downtown...
