Thomas Jane is my hero after seeing the movie "Thursday".

Thank god Aaron Eckhart was also in that movie so I can prove to people they aren't the same person. Oh, and he gets raped in his kitchen by Paulina Poriskova. I shit you not.

WTF, Thomas Jane is starting in it? 😕

Looks like he's hurting for movie roles.

This is an act of desperation.....most likely convinced by his agent.

Taking a starring role on an HBO original series is hardly an act of desperation.

Movie actors NEVER do HBO or TV.....unless it's an act of desperation.

They only do this b/c they are hurting for significant roles and do this to stay relevant in the fickle entertainment world. This situation is mocked even on "Entourage".

Case in point, Sarah Jessica Parker wasn't doing movies when "Sex & The City" premiered.

"Mr. Jane, we'd like you to be the star in a new series we're pitching to HBO, home of Sex & the City, Entourage, the Sopranos, and a few other quality shows you might have heard of."

"Sorry, I've got dignity."

I don't think that's how this plays out. "Desperation" is doing dinner theater.

But unknowns out of HBO go one of two ways

The good: Hollywood
The bad: Showtime

The cast of Big Love would be impressive for a movie, let alone a weekly tv show.

John Adams had amazing acting..

Larry David's richer and more successful then anyone here ever will be

Gabriel Byrne's is an amazing actor as well..

Yeah, what idiot actor would wanna be on an awesome tv show that gets them a paycheck for 5-6 years and countless awards vs. being in the latest shitty Transformers 3: The dark knight

..

byrne played the best devil character i can think of. he was nonchalant, evil for the sake of evil and looked wicked while doing it.

as for this show, im just sick of seeing the damn commercials for it. im still MEH on the concept and story, probably wont watch it.

lol, from that pages comments:

Every once in a while, a show comes along inside our very lives and sucks the breath right out of our breasts. When the show comes, it explodes onto the scene dripping with sticky anticipation, intimately rubbing against our sense of adventure and our dark desire for undressed, naked chaos while stroking genius all over the place and in the faces and hearts of critics world-wide. This show, while rough at times, will surprise you with its gentile caress, while penetrating deep into your mind's chasm. Protect yourself first, then lay back and enjoy the momentum that never lets up. Come together for the ride; it begins when you saddle up and ride'em cowboy with Hung on HBO. Just remember to put it back in the barn wet after such a hard ride. 🙂

Heh....sticky anticipation... 😀

Watching it right now, I'm pretty entertained so far..certainly measuring up so far.

There was absolutely nothing in there that we did not know from the previews. All the funny comments seem like were covered in the preview.

I am a bit disappointed. I will watch the next episode and probably give in the final verdict. I think the screenplay need some improvement.

I agree. Thomas Jane just didn't seem likable. It may have just been the first epi was too busy setting things up, so I will give it another try next week.

Not a huge hit, nor a huge disappointment.
Merely huge.
