Comfort Women

The main topic here was on comfort women. I've tried to explain some inaccuracies about it and laid bare some fables. Again, I'm trying to understand what point you're trying to make here. Even if what you said is true, so what? Is there a bad way to fight a war and a good way? Whose way is good/bad? What exactly are you trying to convince me? Shit happens in war. It's a time when anything goes. Your original point in this thread was to say that Japan's invasion of some of the territories were unjustified. That makes no sense. It's akin to saying that a colonialist's invasion of a territory is unjustified. The colonialist and I will ask you: Says who?

Yes, there is a good way and a bad way. Liberating death camps and saving a whole race is A Good Way. Enslaving local populations for forced slave labor is A Bad Way.

If your actions would set you up as the villain in a bad sci-fi movie then it's A Bad Way.

Kidnapping girls from your enemies to serve as sex slaves is A Bad Way.

Pretending to negotiate while secretly launching a surprise attack is A Bad Way.

Using the captured soldiers of your enemies as slave labor is A Bad Way.

Marching your POWs to death is A Bad Way.

Does this help you understand what a conscience is, Dari?

sad that it has to be explained like that

Actually, you're wrong. You're assuming the political class is telling the military class to act this way because the political class wants to leverage certain soft powers. But if they don't...
Again, there is no good or bad way to fight a war. What matters is what the objective is.

Japan was taking on a poulation 16-18 times its own. And it only wanted certain resources. Therefore, leveraging the labor population to do maximum work at minimal cost was the best way in certain cases. They had no interest in having these people take up Japanese culture...

Dari, you're a psychopath if you truly believe this. The warfare you are describing is barbaric.

You realize that by your standard there would be no Japan today, right? We should've taken the whole population as slave labor to power our 1950s technological revolution.

America has not treated an enemy by your standards since the Indians and we realize that was wrong. I don't sit here and defend the Trail of Tears like you do Comfort Women.

It's sick.

And regarding your comment on the size of Japan's enemies: maybe Hirohito should've considered that before he but his nose off to spite his face? You can't pick a fight then complain your opponent is too big.

I don't think Japan ever complained. They got arrogant after 80 years of non-stop ass-kicking. That was their undoing. And America did not want to destroy Japan because of the rising communist threat. Also, war is barbaric. I've seen it first hand. It's not something anyone wants to happen but when it does and your objectives are clear, you hold nothing back. I don't understand why this is so hard to grasp. If your enemy is in your way, kill him. There's nothing fair or honorable in warfare. People like you have been watching too many movies.

There is a world of difference between killing your enemy and what I laid out.

It's amazing you can't see the difference. Can you get a handicapped sticker for being born a psychopath?

If this stuff still bothers you go out and find a small animal. Kill it and watch the life leave its eyes and body.. Once you've done something like that death should become easier to handle. I was forced to do this when I was young by my father. Hunting too because you're going to consume the life you've just ended, making it a part of you. You learn to appreciate life and look down on the idiots who kill people from a video screen and think it's fun and games.

That has nothing to do with what we're talking about. An actual comparison would be to go capture a Chinese or Korean woman and turn her into your private sex slave. I'm sorry, comfort woman.

Let me guess, father's day, right?

Do what you want, buddy. But be prepared for the consequences. You are living under a system of laws and forces that are far more powerful than you. If you're saying that this is how Japan's military got her prostitutes, the answer is no. They got some from the local pimps. Or maybe some of the women volunteered...

So let me guess, every authoritative source on the subject is lying, right?

Yes, that is how I am saying Japan got the prostitutes for the Military Comfort System. Japan has admitted that it is true and apologized (www.nytimes.com/1992/01/18/world/japan-apologizes-on-korea-sex-issue.html?src=pm) and compensated victims (www.nytimes.com/1998/04/28/world/japan-court-backs-3-brothel-victims.html?src=pm)

So who is the liar? The Japanese Prime Minister or you?

Where in that article did the PM of Japan admit to what you claim he admitted to? Also, I'll just repeat here what I wrote earlier:link

Here
Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa of Japan made a formal public apology here today for Japan's actions in forcing tens of thousands of Korean women to have sex with Japanese soldiers during World War II.

In a speech to South Korea's National Assembly, Mr. Miyazawa said: "Recently, the issue of 'comfort women' in the service of the Imperial Japanese Army has come into light. I cannot help feeling acutely distressed over this, and I express my sincerest apology."

What the fuck does your link have to do with the discussion at hand? No matter which way the wind is blowing, sexual slavery is never OK.

This explains a lot. Did daddy also teach you your misogyny?

the difference between Germany apologizing and Japan apologizing, is that east asian nations won't forgive Japan because their occupation started in 1905 until 1945, whereas Germany's occupation started in 1939-1945. 6 years vs 40 years. On top of that Korea and Japan have fought each other for over a millennia, so their animosity towards each other will continue for maybe the next century. Koreans have a love/hate relationship with Japan, they admire them for being so developed among Asian nations and being the richest Asian nation of their own creation, and yet they refuse to forget the past and use Japan as a rallying nationalist point.

Dari, you might want to look up the definition of misogyny while you're doing some reading on China and the other theaters of war Japan was involved in during WW II. That is if you're quite done with the trolling.

That changes nothing. I certainly don't hate them. I have no idea where you got the notion. Maybe it's one of your fantasy not unlike the many that have been conjured up in this thread...

I'm glad you looked it up. Now tell me why you continue to troll us regarding the war crimes of Japan? If you get the time, tell us how "having to look after a lot of women in your family" precludes being misogynistic? Hating women doesn't mean you want to go out and kill them although, given your statements on Japanese culture, that may not be far afield. I does mean you view women as inferior and since you've trolled us non stop regarding Japan's war crimes, perhaps you've decided to troll us on women in general?
