Can't disagree. Take my Evangelical relatives during the campaign...they hated Trump with a passion--which is no surprise, and wanted Cruz (who in my book is just as bad in different ways, but I digress). Trump could not be more opposite to the things they claim to value as Christians. But oh how that changed when he became the nominee. He is now the object of their hero worship, to a degree that to me is truly frightening...like Neo the One levels of adulation.

Again it's just team ball and a desire for authoritarianism (in the name of "security"). And of course the real motivation for the candidates (money in vast amounts changing hands in high places) gets ignored as others have stated.
Sounds exactly like my mother and my friend’s mother. I’m dumbfounded by the change of heart. Trump did nothing since the primaries to change my negative opinion of him (he only made it much worse). I always was a “never Trump” guy and will continue to be a “never Trump” guy.

We recently moved past eight years of idolatry of 0bama and now, those deeply entrenched in that idolatry are concerned about what they view as the same towards Trump. Interesting.

I thought the t-shirt wearing Obama worshippers were embarrassing and stupid, but I think evangelicals and conservatives deluding themselves about Trump are FAR worse.

Leftists really like Obama. I understand that. He generally embodies leftist beliefs. Trump is just a liar and a hypocrite through and through.

Obama was a centrist, not a "leftist"... whatever that even means. I know you like to post a lot about things you know nothing about, but at least stick to Apple products, and avoid P&N? Your mental fog is contagious.

OK. He’s a centrist because you say so!

I’m probably more of a centrist than Obama was.

The only idolatry that was significant during Obama's term was that conservative idolatry of the idea that others are so profoundly different from themselves, that they must be fought and stopped at every junction. You assume people idolize that which you are told to hate, therefore it justifies your religious, moral crusade against this phantom menace of the "far left."

This had to be true, and you had to worship this concept and guard it every single day, else your life had no meaning. I see that it continues on.

Here's just one of many. "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor." One of many lies that has led to the necessity of a massive overhaul. We know that we couldn't afford the policies of 0bama. It remains to be seen if we can afford the policies of Trump.

We now have a president you don't like and you've already forgotten the slew of lies you were told by 0bama. Maybe just try to be a bit more objective?

In other words, your shit stunk too.

Is this the first president we've had you didn't like since you became politically aware? Sounds like that may be the case. Every election a faction of the electorate wins and a faction loses. I know that the everyone gets a trophy generation can't wrap their heads around that one but I'm not interested in letting their problem become my problem. 0bama told us that the policies of the Bush administration drove us metaphorically into the ditch. Doubling our national debt certainly didn't get us out of that ditch. Do you believe it did? Did borrowing 40% of every dollar spent help us? Was that a path that was sustainable over the long term? If you've run your credit cards up to the max do you feel it wise to just get another credit card?

lol, you're username is sooo perfect.

The ACA was definitely something we could've made work with a bi-partisan effort. That didn't happen.

If the "Like your doctor, keep your doctor" is all you got, that's sad. I'll tell you why, health insurance changes yearly....and guess what....sometimes your doctor is not longer in network. That's the way it works. It was never guaranteed, and a foolish statement by Obama for sure...but really nothing he ever had control of to begin with.

What can we afford even less? To use lies and deceit to stuff the already overflowing pockets of the ruling class, while we isolate ourselves from our allies, and turn a blind eye to hostile nations attempting to destroy us. Righties don't seem to care though, they're just lapping it up.

You're a real hoot! Good thing you have risen above all that eh? Change a few words and what you've said could be thrown right back at you but would you even recognize your reflection? That self-constructed pedestal of morality you've climbed up gives you a pretty awesome view I see.

BTW, I haven't got a religious bone in my body but don't let that stop you from making arguments based on the shit you read from your news sources. The overwhelming need to categorize everybody the left possesses is in part what has your team losing elections.

Why do you feel your team is losing so badly?

It must be genetic. The dumbness runs in the family. Trump lies and denies asking Comey to back off. His rat faced son confirms! Morons.

Trump’s son seems to confirm Comey’s account of the president’s comments on the Flynn investigation

Soon after former FBI director James B. Comey testified that President Trump told him that he “hoped” the FBI would drop its investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, the president's personal lawyer flatly denied that accusation and said Trump “never, in form or substance, directed or suggested that Mr. Comey stop investigating anyone.”

Trump denies asking Comey to end Flynn investigation
President Trump denied asking former FBI director James B. Comey for a loyalty pledge, or to end the FBI's investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, at a news conference on June 9 at the White House. (Reuters)

But Donald Trump Jr. — the president's eldest son — seemed to confirm Comey's version of events in a Saturday interview on Fox News as he tried to emphasize the fact that his father did not directly order Comey to stop investigating Flynn.

“When he tells you to do something, guess what? There's no ambiguity in it, there's no, 'Hey, I'm hoping,'" Trump said. “You and I are friends: 'Hey, I hope this happens, but you've got to do your job.' That's what he told Comey. And for this guy as a politician to then go back and write a memo: 'Oh, I felt threatened.' He felt so threatened — but he didn't do anything.”

Trump also said that Comey's testimony “vindicated” the president and that everything in it was “basically ridiculous.”

“I think he's proven himself to be a liar in all of this. I think he's proven himself to be a dishonest man of bad character,” Trump said.

His comment came during an interview with Jeanine Pirro, a former New York district attorney and judge who is a longtime friend of the Trump family. Pirro has long been a go-to interviewer for the president and his allies when they need a sympathetic cable news host who will enthusiastically agree with them and not ask any difficult questions. (That same day, Pirro attended a baby shower in New York for Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump.) After the interview aired late Saturday night, Pirro tweeted: “Such a great interview!” Trump agreed and tweeted: “Good times. Thanks Judge

Right on baby! Power to the people! Lefty ruling class good, righty ruling class bad!

Good thing you're one of those people that can perform the level of analysis you do and think for them self. If only Trump had continued to alienate our allies and bow to our enemies things would be oh so much better. You're one confused motherfucker. Do you not even recognize that? That's rhetorical, it's obvious you don't.

Sometimes it's the left that has got it jammed up your ass and sometimes it's the right that has got it jammed up your ass. Right now you've decided that the one from the left feels oh so much better. Stay calm and take some deep breaths. The days of getting a kiss before the insertion will eventually return. The days of sweet lies from the left will be back. Patience, patience.

You're still equivocating. What Obama said wasn't good; the Republicans knowingly taking away health care from 23 million people for the sake of the wealthy is inexcusable.

It will, but then someone on Fox will show them how it's the Democrat's fault.

Obama is about as "leftist" as Reagan was. Anywhere else in the world he would have been a right-wing candidate. Today's GOP has veered so far to the right that everything else looks left. Of course, all the "right" and "left" crap is too simplistic...economics, social issues, authoritarism...each deserves its own scale. This is why people that say "the Nazis were left-wing! See how bad the left is" are complete morons. You can easily be very high on the authoritarianism side and be right or left, and the end result is likely going to be the same for the country (bad). Authoritarianism and calls for "patriotism" are what I fear from either party--just so happens it's one party doing it, so they are my enemy.

I wonder if AT/mods do any kind of oversight for alt/troll accounts?

Pretty sure they aren't getting paid enough to map out online times and look for common writing habits. Honestly it wouldn't matter. They will come again.

The fact you see a comparison is proof of your idolatry. Cheers.

Nope, no idolatry going on here...

Yes, it happens with Trump, too. But, only the intellectually dishonest claim it's just the other side.

Your response is on par with what I expected.

He literally just complained about Obama alienating our allies and bowing to our enemies when Trump has, in about four months, alienated virtually all of our closest allies while pointedly refusing to criticize Russia, our most significant geopolitical enemy.

It's a real mystery, just that crazy, just that stupid, or just that mired in ultra right wing media? The guy needs help as he's clearly lost it.

Never seen that video before. Trumps version would be what? We're gonna spread hate and fear?

Intellectual dishonestly is pretending like that still presents some kind of equivocal comparison. As both sides have their extreme fringers, I can compare both.

That song seems very religious minded to me, and the words are positive. And ironically enough, the major religion in our country voted overwhelmingly for Trump.

So meh, that video itself doesn't concern me too much. My kids weren't singing it at school or anything...and my state is blue.

The Obama version :
"yes we can" "sing for unity" "sing for joy"

The Trump version (I will paraphrase here):
"fuck the immigrants" "fuck our allies" "fuck hillary" "fuck obama" "fuck the planet"

We got sort of a Jedi vs Sith going here. Anyone else have no problem picturing Trump as Vader ... a super dumb orange Vader but still a Vader? Ok maybe going into spaceballs territory here...

Righties can always drag out some extreme example & then generalize scorn for libruhls from there.

Remember these kids?-

Trump stiffed 'em for a lousy $2500.
