Well it is true about the Power supplies on these cases. I posted before in this thread about the K7S5A and Duron 1ghz and what it was doing (and not doing). I tried (2) K7S5As and neither of them would post on the 300W PS on these. Being a cheap-a$$, I nabbed the ConUSA $20 300W one this weekend. Amazingly, it still will not post. </sacrasm> Like before, the sytem lights come on (and yes I split the one connector), the dvd drive light flashes and that's it. I finally broke down and ordered a Sparkle from Newegg. We'll see...

Ordered the Comet case and they sent me the LCT Mid ATX 400Watt case instead. At least it had the blue stripe in the front. Powersupply was the TigerPro 400w. Running XP1800+ on Gigabyte GA-7DX with 2 7200rpm hard drives, 2 cdroms, 2 fans, Geforce 3 Ti200(225/500) and system is stable. 3.3v line is at 3.22 and 5v is at 4.90 in bios display. Powersupply is a little loud. CPU temp is at 60c using Amd stock cooler and case temp is 32c.

anything less then the Antec 350 and the system would crash.

OK, that's promising. I'm only going to be using it with an XP of some speed, 256MB of PC2100, a CD-ROM drive, an HD, built-in sound and LAN and an old Matrox Millennium video card. We'll see how it goes when I buy a CPU in November.

I also got silver trim. Nothing optional, but for $30 shipped, it is hard to ask for more. I was planning to use it for kids computer, but I like it myself.
I do have one case w/ CUSA 300w supply running K7S5A w/ Duron 950, 2 HDs, CD-RW, and DVD rom, 512 DDR. It must be some other power consumer that brings it to its knees.

Ordered two, one of each.

Got them both. Both in great condition. Love them both.

Great deal for the price!

Sorry if I'm going off subject, but those CPU temps need addressing.

You need to take a look in the cases and cooling section for some fast help!!!!
With a system temp at a good and low 32c, your CPU temp should be nowhere close to 60c,
and with an XP shouldn't be above 50c normally! You have a severe CPU cooling problem!!!
Don't know if it's improper mounting of HSF, but something is very wrong.
The stock HSF doesn't work great, but shouldn't be that bad.
If you change hsf, you don't need to spend much. The $6 SVC GC68 does great, and is highly praised everywhere.

I went with the LCT400 with front USB at $32.00
Total measured shipping weight was 15lbs.
Ordered last Friday, and received Florida today, Friday, even with Labor day week.

Only one side panel is removable.
Back side panel and top are all one piece, and riveted in place.
So screws only hold one side of drives.

I got the case today, it's nice for $30. Thanks!! It comes with one case fan on the left hand side.
Everything is great except the CPU fan that I bought (Dragon Orb 3 7000rpm) is extremely LOUD.
Does anybody know about this fan? Anyway, the case is a great deal!!

If you want to play it safe, NONE of them. The tigerpro 300W certaintly doesn't ouput much on the 3.3 and 5 rails, and I doubt the 400W does either. The cases are fine and the powersupplies "may" be able to handle the K7S5A depending on the specs of your system, but don't count on it. I ordered a case and when it gets here I aleady have plans to swap out the TigerPro for my Antec.

I got 2 and I have a first revision K7S5A purring nicely in one with the tigerpro psu, and a rev 5 (newest) K7S5A in the other. The second is pretty stacked, 2 disc drives, 2 7200 rpm hdd's, multiple controller cards, fans, etc.

Took 4 days to get my tracking information. According to UPS it'll be here on Wednesday. If it gets here then the total time from order to delivery will be 1 1/2 weeks.

If you are not going to use the cheapo power supply on the comet, then get the evercase from newegg, 24 +10 shipping, it comes with front usb, side fan, totally screwless (even the cards on the pci bus don't need screws).

Evercase screwless case

Read the reviews (link below each product) people really like these cases.

One guy said he emailed evercase and they sent him the form to order the optional HDD shock proof kit for $1.75 . Also said you can call them at (408 894-9003) ext 110

OMG, I just got my case today and I couldn't be happier. Got the gray colored one, which looks awesome, and the thing even has a fan blow hole cut into the right side with a fan already screwed in! I had no clue it would come with this feature. Super clean case, great deal. I'm ordering two more! :p

My case arrived today and it is truley and awesome case for the price. Mine (Comet) included a side fan and I added 2 additional intake fans in the back. Temps are down 5C! over my old case. This thing is very sleek looking and has nice room for expansion as far as cooling goes (I can add 2 more fans in the front). GREAT DEAL!

i don't think it's a good idea to put the intake fans in the back... shouldn't they be in the front and exhaust in the back? if you have 2 intake in the back, where does the generated heat escape from?

Lol I have no idea. The front maybe? There are also small design holes on the side.

I kind of like the idea of cold air blowing on my CPU.

You're screwing with the air flow in the case. Put two up front, two in back and one on the side. If you put in good Sunon 80mm on the side blow hole you'll get plenty of airflow directly on the CPU. The two exhaust fans in back (and the one or two in your PSU) are there to create negative pressure inside of the case, which forces hot air out. The two slots up front are there to cool the hard disks and send some additional air into the case. I put a Sunon on the side, a Sunon and Generic up front and a Sunon and Generic in back. I'm not sure what's inside of my PSU.

3 questions?

1) among the screw and stuff, there was this 1 thing which i have no clue what it does. 1 side looks like it connects to the motherboard pins (like the case power or reset connection) and the other end is cylinder type thing. what is this? led?

2) how loud is the case for other people? i'm using the stock side fan, antec psu, and gc68 for cpu and whole system sounds pretty loud. i wonder if it's louder than usual cuz of the side fan and little vent holes.

3) is it better to leave side fan blowing out or in?
