Comet Lovejoy has not crushed into the sun

There is an amazing video at spaceweather.com that shows the comet has survived the sun grazing encounter :

COMET LOVEJOY SURVIVES: Incredibly, sungrazing Comet Lovejoy appears to have survived its close encounter with the sun. Lovejoy flew only 140,000 km over the stellar surface during the early hours of Dec. 16th. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory caught the comet emerging from perihelion (closest approach). Click on the image to play an amazing movie:

More information on the spaceweather website and for the movie. It looks amazing and beautiful. I promise...

It will be interesting to see how the close encounter affects the trajectory

I find the angle of the debri flying away from the comet difficult to interpret.
The solar wind pushes debri falling of the comet(the tail of the comet) away. Thus the tail of a comet must always point away from the sun. It should always be at an exact opposite position facing away from the sun from the perspective of the comet. But it seems not to be. Probably an effect of post processing of the images i guess...

Looking at the bottom video. Arent we basically looking right up the butt of the comet as it heads towards the sun? And then it is heading towards the camera on the return trip? I'd guess the appearance of the trail being flat like that is an effect on the lens or something.

I guess...

Or the matter in the comet tail is heavy enough that it is not immediately pushed away by the solar wind. It takes time for the solar wind to exert force on the debri and the delay causes the effect of the comet tail not being where i expected it to be... I did not take into account the limited force the solar wind exerts (while the gravity of the sun is attracting the object at the same time)when the object(debri particles and dust) is heavy enough and has enough kinetic energy.

Dude at some point your going to have to stop. How many Doomsday scenarios have you spouted and discarded already?

Religious extremists also exist in Israel. Fundamental religious freaks do not only live in Islamic countries. You can find them everywhere. And from what i read, the number of fundamental Jews is increasing. If there are to many fundamental types on both sides of the border, i can assure you that war will happen in the ME. And the people who just want peace in those regions will suffer. Extremists do not think rationally. They only have a purpose which must be fulfilled. That is how they think.

p.s.
Imagine growing up in a very orthodox Jewish family...
Hardly any education, and everything revolves around the religion.
No freedom of choice. No passing on knowledge and sharing wisdom to prevent mistakes from the past.

When not prevented, problems may arise between 2020 and 2050 (critical mass when it comes to orthodox or fundamental religious background in the ME). I am afraid that even use of nuclear weapons will then become a scary possibility.

Da Joos control the weather and earthquakes!!!!!!

That is kind of antisemitic what you have written.

Jews are just humans with a country and a ethnic background and rich history. And just as with any other group of people with a country and ethnic background and history. There will always be a small group of people that have rather fanatical ideas that may very well destroy prosperity for everybody in that country and around that country. That is not typical Jewish. Which you would know if you would enjoy history.

And apparently stellar bodies as well. 😱

Sod it... I say we just put them in charge, they seem to be pretty awesome at getting shit done.

When looking at history, when there is prosperity, there is often a start of a merger of cultures. Combining the best of different cultures into a single unified culture. This merger is a driving force of combining ideas and solving problems and increasing prosperity. When the prosperity is gone because of financial, cultural and religious egoism, jealousy and hate. The fear mongering starts. And the scapegoats are looked for and unfortunately found.

WTF?!?!!? is there anything that the Joos dont control?!?!!?!? 😱

I hope not! Bloody Gentiles couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery never mind keeping a world wide conspiracy to take over the planet secret and take control over stellar bodies for their own nefarious reasons.

Who wouldn't want people with those sorts of organisational smarts running the place? ^_^

We shouldn't only limit to religious extremists, but extremists in general. I think that European countries would probably rank at the very top in terms of a per capita basis.
