(CBS4 News) WEST PALM BEACH Sources have confirmed to CBS4 News that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs Monday evening.

Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when officials found the drugs, among them Viagra.

Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.

Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.

Typo in there..."conservative talk show host" should read "comedian".

It's good to know that conservatives who skirt the law and get away with it continue to skirt the law and get away with while preaching to others to follow the law.

Rush should be on some sedatives, esp. after this tirade against a listener

"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

-Rush Limbaugh

Technically he didn't get away with it, since getting caught again. The only other words he spouts publicly though should be in the form of My Memoirs: Being an Idiot was a Great Career!

He was released by the authorities, wasn't arrested. (Per Countdown on MSNBC)

Doubt Rush will be charged w/anything either.

Wow, talk about an individual who has managed not to learn his lesson. One more incident and I say he goes to jail for sure. Three strikes and you're out, dumbass.

By the way, he may be in violation of his plea deal from the first case. Deals like that generally have conditions that you stay off drugs and not be busted again.

I don't know what is funnier, him getting busted with illegal viagra, or Conjur finding this is the best news he's heard in 6 years.

why is it that the only time the anti's are ever happy about a drugbust is when it's Rush Limbaugh?!

your hypocrisy knows no bounds conjie.

Rush is a Comedian now?!

I mean I ALWAYS thought he was funny, but I had NO IDEA he was TRYING to be that way.

And by funny I mean that in a sad, I just shot myself in the foot, kind'a way....

Rush Limbaugh's Attorney Roy Black Responds to Media Inquiries
Mon June 26 2006 21:21:11 ET

Miami, FL -- June 26, 2006 -- Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, issued the following statement today in response to several inquiries by the media:

While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey.

I wish him well with his drug problem and I wish it was required that talk radio have balance and not be allowed to screen calls. Private media is great in concept but leads to monopolization and propaganda to target audiences for sales of product. Can't have people get confused about the truth when you're shoving commercial garbage down their throats.

Viagra is hardly HARD evidence of hard drug abuse---but it does show Rush may be hard up for getting it up. Could not have happened to a nicer guy in MHO.

As for Rush being a comedian--don't buy that either---he is more the Al Frankin lying big fat idiot type in my book. And now, well how do you say it, he has hoisted himself up on his own petard.

And lucky for Rush, his petard is a lot less hazardous to anyone's well being than his mouth.

Won't say this may my year or month---------but it does give me a very good chuckle. Maybe there is some poetic justice in the world.

Not so sure they aren't the same thing...

'The French used pétard, ?a loud discharge of intestinal gas,? for a kind of infernal engine for blasting through the gates of a city.'

Somebody is in big trouble.

You cannot intentionally mislabel prescription medication. If the prescribing physician did it (which I assume) he could lose his DEA license. I'm not sure what the penalty would be if Limbaugh (or his housekeeper) did it. In fact, I'm not sure its illegal at all for a consumer to relabel their own pill bottles . . . as long as they don't use it to get a refill.

It just occurred to me . . . isn't Rush divorced? What would a good Christian man that isn't married . . . use Viagra for?

It's because of Rush's prior comments on how these druggies should be sold down the river. Nice try, though. Oh wait, not really. Get some perspective, ya desperate.

It just needs to be said... Again. Being conservative does not mean you are religious. People of faith fall all along the political spectrum. I don't understand this obsession some of you seem to have of always equating a conservative political leaning to fundie religious beliefs.

That said, all liberals are godless commies. 😛
