Flying from Las Vegas to London.

Hanging out in London for 4 days before my tour starts and was curious if any ATOTers from UK/London would like to meet up and have a pint or two, my treat!

Does this mean I would have the first documented photo of Neckbeard in the wild???

It's possible!

:-D

I arrive on Wednesday @ 1030am so I am game for any day until Saturday.

Sounds good to me! I can be around any day except Wednesday, let me know where you're going to be, I'm PM you my mobile number.

Woot!

Where in Italy are you gonna be? My tour goes through Florence, Rome, then Venice. the latter part of June.

We could have a US ATOT meetup! :-D

I have a US ATOT meetup every time I go upstairs in the morning. I say hi to Zenmervolt, hi to linuxboy and we talk about how we miss having Orsorum around too. 😛

Florence on the 21st and 22nd, not hitting Rome or Venice. 2 weeks on the Amalfi coast and then a week in Umbria. 🙂

That is sweet!

Make sure to do the beautiful famed coastal hike between the 5 villages at Cinque Terre.

Yo McLovin, how much to punch neckbeard in the face?

If we do a whip around the forum I reckon we could get you some serious cash.

LMAO! Maybe, maybe not. Depends on how much.

That's cool! I remember you saying something about your roommates before, but sadly forgot about it lol.

I will have to check the schedule of my tour because I think we make it to Florence the week prior.

Would be cool to meet some faces behind the names!

Umbria

awesome.

do yourself a favor and skip Pisa. what a waste of time. Florence needs at least a week.

Everything until Umbria isn't really under our control; we're part of the sailing schedule so we go where they go. 🙂 I don't mind what we have for a first trip. I'm kind of learning HOW to travel, and we can always go back. 🙂

I'm going to other way, flying from Brussels to San Francisco
Have fun
San Francisco eh? We may have to set up an impromptu Bay Area ATOT meet. (And by Bay Area, I meant just me, because although it hasn't snowed in SF in a few decades, it's really flaky here... 😉)

You're taking a tour? That takes the fun out of it.
No/sorta. My husband is a cheesemaker and has a lot of friends in that community. This friend of his, also a cheesemaker and an expert sailor as it happens, decided to put together a trip to Italy. He invited several of his friends, including us, and rented the sailboats.

He mostly set the itinerary as far as cities to visit because he's been there before and knows the tastes of his guests. We had the chance to give a lot of input into the plan and we can opt in or out of whatever other people are doing in each city. We're going to join for wandering around museums in Florence for instance, but decided not to join for opera in Pisa.

We're also getting to do a lot of cool stuff that isn't usually open to tourists. Private tours of pro cheesemaking operations in Parma, visiting farms that aren't usually open to the public, etc.

I wouldn't go on a pro tour but I'm looking forward to this. It's a good "first trip" for me. And we planned a week on our own just to wander around and explore by ourselves in Umbria after the two week sail on the Amalfi coast is done.

Woot! Made it to London.

Customs was SUPER easy, train from gatwick to victoria station easy as pie, Underground was a bit hectic but was totally awesome.

I have to say, the first thing I noticed when I landed was how green everything is here holy crap. I'm used to the desert where hardly anything is green and we have no such thing as rain! lol
