Hi people, i'm in the process of getting a new monitor, i have at most 320 to spend for the monitor shipped. I have narrowed it down to these monitors...
SyncMaster 950P By Samsung
SyncMaster 955DF By Samsung
ViewSonic/Opitquest Z90
Hitachi's CM715
KDS VS195E
And also one by NEC/Mitsubishi, However the link isn't direct, you gotta click NEC line of monitors, (The left one) then the Accusync Series, (Top Right) Then the Accusync 90.
NEC Site

I want a good monitor, crisp, good images, but also i need a kinda high refresh rate, as i want to get some 3D glasses which require higher refresh rates. If anyone know's of any other monitors i can get for around 320 shipped, i'm open to opinion. Thnx!

Well, I own the Samsung SyncMaster 950P and I can't say enough good things about it. Neither can PcWorld. I believe its won their best 19" monitor for the past few years. The monitor is everything you are looking for: a crisp, good image and the text is razor sharp. You can't beat the price either...

The 955df is AWESOME. My friend has one, and it might be just as good or better than my Hitachi CM771's.

Another vote for the 955DF. I'm typing on it right now. I got rid of my flat screen trinitron for this puppy and got a 3 year free replacement warranty from Best Buy and $100 back. This monitor is really nice and it's 2d quality on my GeForce2 kicks a trinny's butt. It's 3d quality is every bit as good as the trinitrons I've had on this desk...3 in the last month!!

I just got and absolutely love my Samsung 955df. As long as I run it less than 1600x1200 the refresh rates are 70 and above. Very sharp edge to edge w/ nice color. Got it for $297 shipped - $30 MRB, from Onvia before they started charging for shipping :disgust:

950P is the traditional curved screen, 955DF is a pure flat screen. The 950P has better specs, but the 955DF has sharper dot pitch. My top choices on that list would be the 955DF for flat, and 950P or Hitachi CM715 for curved screen.

Cool, thanks guys. So would you take the 955DF over the 950P LXi? Also is that rebate still intact from best buy Ronstang?

Jungle friends? OK, Ace. 🙂

I paid a visit to http://www.monitorsdirect.com the other day browsing the 21" tubes. Apparently they make a line of monitors called Cornerstone that have some pretty good specs. If the 19" line is anything like the 21", you might want to take a look. One thing I noticed with the 21": the top two choices are FCC Class A only. So no use in the home. Plus they don't offer flat tubes. Still, one model the p1600 looked quite juicy. I was wish it wasn't curved. Oh well maybe we'll see some flat tubes soon...I know Hitachi is beginning to produce these at 21" now.

I think i might have to go with the 950P because the 3d glasses i want to get need a high refresh rate. :/ So how about the other monitors, have any of you seen any of them in action or read reviews?

Thanks for finding a bug in my web site. The p1600 and p1700 are indeed FCC class B devices. I will fix the web site.

My Friend has teh KDS one and it is preety good. As long as that is not the shortneck one, I recommend it.

Sure thing. And I wasn't even trying to find any. Damn I'm good.
