If you don't have a decent connection, I wouldn't even bother. I just kind of threw this together, so it may not be the best design. Sorry.
Anyway, earlier this month a coworker and I went to Redlands, CA for some training. We visited Joshua Tree National Park and Mount San Jacinto. We wanted to go to Big Bear Lake, but it was really snowy up there. I've got to say that I really enjoyed it out there. It's a beautiful area, and apparently apartments are comparable in price to where I live now, which was surprising (though I don't know how great those places really are).
We stayed in San Bernardino, which had some of the more dangerous driving that I've encountered, but I have no complaints. The weather really was fantastic. The people didn't seem to know where they were going most of the time, and they weren't in any hurry to get there, but everyone was super-friendly with one exception. I was pleasantly surprised.
We did have one weird run-in with a kid on our fifth day there. He was walking along the sidewalk in Redlands and he threw his book bag right into the middle of the lane in front of us. I stopped and he just stood there, staring at the bag. About 15 seconds later he casually walked into the road (it was Redlands Avenue, I believe), picked up his bag, and walked away. I should have honked the horn when he bent over to pick up the bag.
Anyway, it's a pretty area and very friendly, though I couldn't understand the Spanglish. It's worth a visit just for the parks if nothing else. I hope you enjoy the pictures. A few of them make nice backgrounds.
