Come see my new desk and ceiling fan!

My birthday present from my parents was a new desk - I've always wanted an L-shaped desk, and I wanted one that was tough as hell. One that wouldn't shake if I bumped it, and one that would be sturdy enough for printers, books, etc. to sit on it.

And this morning, I had an electrician out to install three ceiling fans in the condo. He was four and a half hours late (and I had to go to work, but luckily I found someone to wait with them), but the job DID get done. I can only hope they'll comp me a little on the bill. If not, I'll make sure the BBB knows about it.

Anyway, pics:

For those curious, it's a Bush OfficePro Modular desk collection. It consists of one 48" desk, one 60" desk, and a corner connector.

I want to paint the room...any color suggestions? I was thinking something nice and cool, as it'll offset the warm tones that the desk gives the room.

Actually it is moving, it's just that my S400 is THAT good!

And as for the Dell, why would I buy anything else when I can get one for under $400 after rebates (about 1.5 years ago) with a 2 GHz P4, 1 512 MB stick, a CD burner, and an awesome warranty?

Wow, NICE DESK!!! That is a really tough-looking piece of furniture. Attractively styled, too.

Did you pick it out? You have good taste in furniture.

Congrats to you and good luck.

Thanks for the compliments. I did pick it out, and I looked at several commercial-quality desk collections from both Bush and Sauder before I settled on the OfficePro. When I looked at it in the store, the Bush stuff was a lot tougher-feeling than the Sauder stuff, and the desktops were a bit thicker too.

Truthfully, I'd have loved to build my own, but not only do I not have tools, but I don't have expertise either.

I absolutely love the tone of the wood...it's perfect; not too light, not too dark.

OfficeMax occasionally has 25% off the OfficePro collection. :)

Well that's a mighty fine desk, congrats :) It does help with those coupons though :) If you wait for the right sale you get all the pieces combined cheaper anyhow

Gotya beat on that. :) We have the same exact furniture line, but have two 60" desks, a corner connector, and one of their corner desks. It fills the room, but is great to have all that space.
