>90% of all IT support issues, in my experience, are PEBCAC issues.

meh. My old neighbor was a database admin for a large NW company. One day he shows up at my door and says his car wont start so I agree to take a look.

The engine turns over fine so I take a look and his gas gauge says empty. I tell him its out of gas and he insists that it just hit empty, he has gas. I offer to go gt a can of gas for him but he says no. I say sorry. I have no idea whats wrong with it and go home.

A half hour later I see a tow truck show up. The driver looks at the car and gets a gas can and puts it in the car.

3 minutes later my neighbor was driving away.

There are idiots everywhere. We all have to deal with them in our work an making fun of them is pretty fun. I promise you though. Either you have been or will be made fun of for some idiotic thing you do by some tech or service person.

Given the number of times I haven't spoken to a tech or service person, that most likely hasn't happened yet and probably won't.

No just that you asked them via email which is a pretty slow way to fix someone's problem.
Sounds like she e-mailed in a time sensitive problem. Most customers prefer to use the contact method they chose as the means of communication. This is basic customer service.

If she wanted to call, I'm betting they have a number.

NN>ATOT yet again.

Not how I work. I want to fix the problem fast, my clients appreciate that. If they wanted slow service they wouldn't contact me.
