I would have scored a zero but,

-My mother in laws cooking is sub par. But I still eat it.

Therefore I am a 5.

Your score: 30

From time to time, you butter other people up. You may not even think of it as kissing butt, but more as being polite - when, for example, you laugh at other people's bad jokes. Or perhaps there are simply certain things you want so badly in life (a promotion or the acceptance of your spouse's family) that you will put in that extra effort to get on someone's good side. Truth be told, sucking up is not always a bad thing, but can be a valuable way to build the right connections. You seem to maintain the precarious balance between outright kissing butt and subtly getting on people's good side. It's a real art!

"0" I actually have a problem with not making enough small compliments because I feel that is insincere and kiss-assy. But I know I take it to extremes and could live with a few small but sincere comments. It's funny because I found that this is one of the "problems" that my MBTI personaility type (INTJ) often has. We feel so strongly that things should be sincere and rewards based on their own merits that we can actually sabotage ourselves by making peope we like think we don't like them (because there is the expectation that everyone does little ass kissy things). Sigh....

What does your score mean?

Even in the most tempting of situations (like getting a promotion), you hold back the urge to suck up. You'd rather get respect, admiration and the other good things in life on your own merit, not because you butter people up. Either that or it simply doesn't occur to you to kiss butt! While it's certainly admirable that you don't kiss butt on a regular basis, keep in mind that a little subtle effort to get on people's good side can go a long way. You don't have to feel ashamed if you do it occasionally; it's actually an accepted part of successful socializing and career advancement. Just do things that feel genuine and you shouldn't be compromising your integrity.
looks like they need to revise the score explanations and expand it

I got a 50. And YES, I would physically kiss my boss' ass just to get a raise. I want one that bad.

I got a 10. It's not that I go out of my way to be a dick to everybody, it's just that I hate people. And I don't care. I don't care about people so I don't care what they think.
