Comcrap's new IP addresses...

Okay, so my computer's been without internet for 2 days now. I call up Comcast tonight to find out that their networks are only supporting 1 IP address at this current time. The guy that I spoke with had mentioned that until the network was "broken in," that I'd have to wait for approximately twp weels until my computer would have a connection. Is anyone having problems with multiple IP addresses and Comcast and most of all... has anyone found a good way to get around it?

Ummm.. Linksys BFSR41 cable/dsl router with DHCP??

I have 4 computers sharing the same IP.

When Comcast switched us over on Saturday morning last weekend, I had to just go into the router setup, release the IP, then renew the IP. No problems, speed seems the same for me...

I'm using a router too but my speeds have sucked since the transition. Its been slow as hell for the past couple of days and I'm hearing alot of complaints about Comcast. Go to dslreports comcast forum, its full of complaints. I don't think anyones had anything good to say about Comcast.

Sorry this doesn't address your issue but its just a warning for whats to come when you actually get your internet up and running.

Yeah Pyxis, there's a lot of people mad over this whole thing. I mean come on... Comcast should have seen this and not have been so stupid. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that both computers here go through a NetGear EN104TP 4-port 10 MBps hub.

I've got two computers on a linksys router and they still work fine but my speeds have dropped since the transition. Before switching over, I was getting 2.5 - 3.0 Mbs and now it usually runs around 1.2 Mbs. I'm giving them a little while to see if they get it cleared up before calling and complaining.

What number did you use to reach them? I have yet to get the mailer which gives you your new email password, and the number I was given by the cable group is always busy.
