How do you guys calculate your totals, just by adding up what you've downloaded? How can you calculate what you use by browsing?

I've used Comcast 3MB HSI for 6 months. Have d/led AND u/led GBs and GBs of video, photos, programs. AFAIK, there's no cap.

There's no cap for sure.

HOWEVER, it has been said that the abusers that stand out do get C&DCA letters. Usually the trigger is a few 100GB a month.

Investing in CMCSA has its benefits. :)

The windows XP Task Manager? :p

start --> run --> taskmgr
WTF? Where in Task Manager can I see bandwidth usage?

It's under the "networking" tab.

Once there, select View and then select columns... THe ones selected in the picture relate to your question.

Interesting, thanks.

What's the difference between "bytes sent/received" and "bytes sent/received per interval"? When are these figures beginning?

without the "per interval" is just the total since the program was launched ( be it 30 days or 2 minutes)

with the "per interval" would be how many KB\sec (or similar unit) you're downloading\uploading.

The logging doesn't begin until the program is launched though.

Fvck Comcast.

Whats the alternative?

DSL?

DSL speeds suck.

Maybe in your area, it's different for different people. I know my 6000/608 DSL is faster then most cable out there. Hell even if it WAS a bit slower for me, I'd prob still take DSL, I refuse to give Comcast a cent of my money, Dish and DSL for me.
