Today i went from getting 400kbs downloads to getting 700kbs downloads😱 in less than 8 hours.

Just wish that their uptime was greater than 50%🙁

Comcast's uptime around here is 99.9%...

The upgrade was just fired up in my area here in south Florida. 6,000 down, and 384 up. And I think I pay $45.95/month, including the modem.

2mb down/ 384up

20 GIG BANDWITH LIMIT

$80/month

Ridiculous? Hell yes.

I pay $83 a month for a 512/512kbps DSL line with two /29 subnets of IPs. No transfer limit though.

Dang I wish FIOS was available in my area. It makes all these Comcast "deals" a joke. 15 down, 2 up for less than $50? Now that's hawt.

comcast has major lag. can barely play CS.

its not your isp 🙂 (get another pc)

I have heard stories that comcast does lag more than SBC. My friend claims to get 20 - 30 ping in CS, while I get low 40s with my Comcast.. ditto.

i was on CSS last week, i have Comcast and my ping was 8 YES 8, and this wasent to a server in myhouse, it was a random pub server, when my housemateand I used to play at the same time our pings were never over 60 when we were both on, and this was when comcast was 4mbit, now that its at 6, the pings are lower

and i have had 6/384 for well over a month now in boston, i guess we got it first

I've been on the 8MB/768 connection for at least a few weeks. I ran speedtest a while back to see what would happen, and I was pleasently surpised. Monthly rate didn't go up either.

Yep, I have comcast. Some times I get dl speeds reeeeally close to 4Mbps and other times I get in the 2Mbps area. Their DNS servers are totally unreliable so I switched them to Verizons lvl3 servers🙂

:Q how do you switch DNS Servers?

Right click my netowrk places, properties, right click your connection, properties, highlight internet protocol (TCP/IP), click properties, click the use the following DNS server adress thing. There servers are 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2. Have fun!🙂

Those aren't Verizon DNS addresses, ARIN shows them to be owned by a networking company, Level 3 Communications.

In NW Ohio the local cable monopoly was still doing 1mb/128kb as recently as about 2 years ago. For $55 a month.
