Why don't you call them and sign up for the $19.99 cable internet promotion they have going on right now for existing customers?

Looks like that offer isn't valid in my area. They did knock down my internet payment to $33/month for 3 months just for calling though.

Satalite packages are pretty cheap...and my comcast bill kept growing while I had them. How much would it cost just for the internet?
I cancelled TimeWarner and switched to DirecTV and AT&T DSL. Basically around $5 discount per service in the package deal, plus many rebates. So far, I've received $175 in rebates, and am waiting for a $125 rebate!

The DSL has been more reliable than cable, and I can't detect a difference in the speed, although I haven't gamed online in a while. DirecTV quality is OK, but hey, it's cheaper than cable! I have a problem receiving certain channels, and local HD is intermittent. I'm going to ask for a new HD box. My biggest gripe is I can no longer use my dual-channel Series 2 TiVo, so if anyone want to buy a TiVo with more than two years pre-paid service, let me know :)

Thats BS... use the boxes as a basketball backboard and have them out to replace them. Its BS theyre going to charge you for something thats their fault - might as well sign up for the service plan and stick it back to them.

*Disclaimer* for you tools that take me seriously... you're a tool :)

I'm trying out Charter HD right now and I immediately noticed blockiness blur during camera pans while watching The Office in HD.

Some people say that sat HD is worse than cable HD, but Rage187 says otherwise.

How do I know I'm getting the best I can?

Digital cable is a scam for most carriers. They half-ass the network and give you a digital box giving you pretty much slow channel transitions, sound cut outs, weak signal strengths, and drop outs.

They know their network was made for analogue but they shove the digital crap so they can pocket more money without investing in more capital.
