Comcast in my area just turned on the local CBS affiliate in HD today. Now I get to see tomorrow's game in HD, plus the superbowl. I'm happy :D:beer:

Not really. The picture quality of their broadcasts is pretty crappy.

Edit: It also takes forever to change the channel on their digital revievers.

Comcast teevee sucks! Digital pic quality sucks, and there is a huge lag when changing channels.

As far as their internet... well, I have had them for four yrs. When they were @home, we were paying $30.00 pr month for 3mb down and almost 2mb up. When they became comast, they doubled the prices and 1/2 the service. Since there is really no competition, I stuck with it, and they just doubled my speed. I am waiting for the price to go up.

DSL was not as fast or reliable as Cable. Don't know about now, but back then it was not nearly as stable.

I have DirecTV and Comcast internet. Working out fine now.

I have to live in an apartment at the moment, so I can't get DirecTV. :(

I think you can request it as long as you're getting the digital service. They'll start charging once they get people hooked on it. They're the digital crack dealers.

Sounds like what happen to me when RCN dumped their NJ market to Patriot media. But I have no doubt RCN had no intentions of keeping the 4.5 Mbps down/1.0Mbps Up for long any how. RCN now calls that the "MegaModem" for 20 dollars more a month. But I can't complain. The overhaul they made on the network in our state is amazing. Always up, no down time, and always dependable. But "patmedia" increased the price by 5 or 10 dollars a month with TV cable service.

You also have to realize the jobs that maybe sacrificed when company's merge or migrate. In this case, Patmedia actually kept the older employees and hired even more. So I have to give them credit for that, kept a lot of fathers employed to feed their families.
