so comcast took over attbi in feb...no biggy...another email change, rate change, and new people to talk to. So I have to go in and register for their autopay (I suck at paying bills so I autopay everything). Long story short, they dont charge my card and I get shut off. I call in and make the payment, and make sure that my CC info is deleted so they wont double charge me. Well guess what? They did. And because of the extra $350 (feb til june payments) my rent check bounces. There should be some type of legal option for consumers to be compensated for coporate screw ups like this. Do you think they even offered me a small credit for my inconvinience? Hell no! I would switch, but I cant get dish at my apartment, and I dont have a home phone so dsl is out.

the redeeming factor is your attbi.com E-maill address will work till the end of 2004...I'll off the record admit that comcasts autopay system needs work, and I work for the company, however it is still ultimatly your responsability to make sure your account is up to date as far as payment goes. you want a legal option, send a check...We supply the autopay service as a courtesy not a right.

you work for that evil place??

I know its my responsibility...thats why I had no problem paying the bill off...the only problem occured when they charged my account after the CSR had promised me that the autopay had been taken off, ensuring that I wouldnt get double billed.

I should have updated, I spoke with a supervisor who was very helpful. They are going to credit back the extra charge to my card, and also give me a credit for any overdraft charges that I may get. The lady was very nice and understanding, couldnt have been more helpful.

As for why there was so little money in there, I had just paid 3 months worth of rent/utilities. Like I said, I suck at paying bills, so I autopay whatever I can, then pay the others in advance, that way I dont have to worry about them.
