I wish my host would double my downstream. Then again I have been at 3.0mbps since day 1 with cable.

They gave me a gift too. 6 month for 19.99 AND an $150 MIR. They are giving me free Internet AND paying me 30 bucks on top of it, PLUS I get reimbursed at work for the 19.99 cus I occasionally work from home. Yep, $150 and half a year of broadband for nothing.

I keep seeing reports of comcast disconnecting people without notice because they download some arbitrary amount over an imaginary limits.

It's making me scared, what's the limit? 😕

Maybe Insight will bump my upload speed from 77Kbps.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....

Woooo, yeah, right. Insight would throw babies into a fire if it would give them more money.

I'm a bit scared too after looking at some threads in the comcast forums over at dslreports.com.

I'm also a bit angry that my speed hasn't been bumped to 3M yet and it was scheduled to be be bumped last monday. 🙁

It kind of makes you wonder why they are upping the limit in the first place. If thy don't want you to use the bandwidth then why give you more? So they can kick you quicker?

so they can claim the numbers. DSL speeds are coming down and the speeds are almost as fast. DSL can't compete with 3 MB lines but for 26bucks, cable can't compete on that price.

i hve 3 down

would rather have the upload doubled though, 256 just isnt enough on the rare occassions i want to upload something

Just ran a speed test, and they bumped me up here in South Bend, IN. Wahoo! The service has been really spotty down here. I'm hoping it is a consequence of getting their act together and it will cease. Probably not though...

I got my download speed doubled last month. Wonder why the increase in bandwidht now. Has technology gotten more efficient?

The speed has always been there. It's just been hidden. When I first got my cable modem I was getting 3.3MB down and 100kb/s uploads. Then the slowly tightened the noose until we got to 1.5down and 256up.
