Agree, about where and how the cable should be grounded. As to wiring up 2 new drops in the home, if the wires were fished in the walls, it will cost more. But it still seems somewhat high for what they did.

135/hr is the going rate for an electrician to run the wires. Fair service, fair price.

I wouldn't classify " Larry the Cable Guy " as an electrician... Do You? I do electrical and electronics for a living. $135 an hour for a TV/Internet Cable is retarded. I split my cable with an amplifier and added three drops in about an hour and a half. Including boxes and wall plates. They installed no boxes or wall plates IAW the OP. This equals a shitty job... I can imagine how they did it. Poke a hole in the drywall and screw a wall plate to the drywall. My cable guy tried this with me on our original install... Nope. Made him put in a box FTW.

My best friend recently moved and had a cable connection in his home, but he wanted 2 more cable connections, so he called Comcast and asked them to come out.
The day arrived and he left the technician in the home. They ended up re-wring and grounding the cable which was not done previously...long story short - he recieved the bill. But his wife opened the mail -- $270 dollars for 2 hours work and they charged him $15 per additional outlet --- well they did not add any putlets they just drilled 2 holes and called the holes outlets.

Total bill was $300 + a $42 dollar installation charge...lolol

nope... not going there,

They aren't electricians. Are they licensed? Have they gone through the apprenticeships and unions? They're cable guys and I wouldn't trust them to move my couch unsupervised.
