I, like many others, got in on the 6 month, $19.99 deal over the summer. Well, its expired and the cost of HSI is $43. I have digital silver with HBO and live Kennett Square PA (outside Philly). Im out in the boonies and Comcast is my only HSI route.

Some have gotten Comcast to extend the deal for a few months and some couldn't and were forced to go to another company.

I know there are threads for NEW customers. This is just for those who had the $19.99/6 month deal expire already.

POST YOUR EXPERIENCES.

(if you got another deal, please explain what you did)

You're probably out of luck since you can't threaten to switch to a competitor. That's how I always get deals from the cable companies here.

I've been paying full price for the past two years. I called Comcast to cancel because I was going to get DSL which is cheaper. When I was asked why I was going to cancel, I told them, and they offered $25/month for cable internet for 12 months so I stayed with them. :)

Why do I get the feeling that this thread is going to turn into a bitch-and-whine thread about how "I absolutely DESERVE to not pay for anything because I'm an expectant selfish wanker"? :p

I called them and told them there was no way in hell I was paying for their flakey service, and they gave me another 6 mons. for $20/month :p

Yeah. You people with your "options" in HSI and your "freedom" to get a good deal make me sick! LOL

Same with cable companies in the UK. Getting £25/month off from an 12 month introduction offer (£10/month off cable modem internet).

Yet you knew exactly that this thread would turn into, and so does everyone else. I've seen both sides having been both a tech for cable ISPs (yes, plural) for years and a customer. You're intentionally opening a can of worms with the way you word your posts and your ingorant contempt is blantantly obvious from your post that I quoted.
