Yeah, comcast has pretty good service. The only time I remember any connection problems was during the only lan party I've hosted.

$57/mo though.

I went to Best Buy and got a similar deal:

1. $79.99 DLink Modem Free after MIR
2. $14.95 Comcast self install kit Free after MIR
3. $20.00 Best Buy GC after MIR
4. $60.00 from Best Buy to equal 3 months of free service
5. $19.99 for the first 6 months with no contract

So you're basically getting $174.94 back from Best Buy on this deal after you buy a cable modem and setup. Not too shabby.

I am trying the $130 offer from Staples.

For some odd reason, Comcast sent me an installation kit, so I returned the one Comcast sent to me to Staples for a return.

They gave me a free modem also. I don't know if it is a rental, but under the promtional plan, they said I am not charged rental fees. IT doesn'tmatter to me since i had a cable modem already.

19.99 for 6 months....it is less than the $130 rebate, so it like being paid around 1.65 a month for 6 months to use Comcast.

No contract either, so you can get out of it after the six months is over. All in all, you get 6 months of Comcast for $45. When I called earlier today, they gave me $29.95 a month, and promised me that was the best deal available. I called and cancelled from my cell phone at CC when I saw their offer. Hope somebody finds this useful!

I did the same thing - went to CC and sign up for Comcast Cable. Now, when I get my first month's bill they are charging me like $60+ a month with the taxes and all. I called up the CSR and she asked me where did I see the ad for $20/month because she wasn't aware of it. Pisses me off. Anyway, can I cancel the service and return the modem to get my money back? It's been a little over a month.
