Comcast doubled my speed.

Had to reboot my modem to get it.
New speeds:

No bandwidth caps still!

What a tease. I reset my modem, it started updating its firmware (DL+UL lights flashing in tandem), it restarted again and no change in speeds. :|

EDIT:

Note, I do have a DOCSIS 3 modem (Motorola SB6121).

hmmm don't see that on the website.

wife and i moving into a house at the end of august. will probably go with fios.

I've heard some things about it supposedly only being for the areas that also received the 300Mbps package, which is supposedly the north-east. That would explain why someone on here in Cape Cod was upgraded.

They sent out emails today about the speed increase.

Great news! Now you can do more online in half the time.
That's because we've automatically upgraded your XFINITY® Internet speed — and it won't cost you a penny more.

What does this mean for you?

You can download HD movies, TV shows and more to your laptop, tablet or smartphone in half the time. It's just another way we're continuing to ensure your entertainment enjoyment.

Sincerely,
Comcast

Same story. My cable modem status shows offline, but I'm on the internet... 😵

Rebooted my modem and noticed it updating the firmware, however my speeds aren't really any faster than they were before.

The fact that they actually told you to reboot your modem was surprising.
Usually they don't say anything about that.

You are pretty close to me.

Both.
Did you just get boosted also?

Dunno about just getting boosted. Just noticed my DL speeds are a bit faster and my modem changed its indicator lights; well, one specifically which was always amber until two days ago when it suddenly went to green. It's been amber for the 8 months I've been here, so the change was noticed....and the DL speed seemed to increase the same time.

Wellfleet, btw.
