I've got Comcast in DC, and I don't know if there have been outages or what in my neighborhood, but I may as well be on dial up. Slow as molasses.

Anyone know of any network diagnostics I can try to get to the bottom of this? Comcast "doesn't know."
 
You could start by checking your connection here.

May want to check at different times. My comcast connection varies quite a bit over time.
Earlier it was arond 1.0 mpbs (below DSL). Now when there is less traffic it is almost 5.9 mpbs.
