I had my new comcast internet installed Tuesday. The itnernet worked perfectly, that's until I restarted the computer. When I restarted, I started getting the Limited or No Connectivity Error for my LAN. I have done everything, uninstalled Zone Alarm, cleaning every value pertaining to Zone Alarm. Reset my cable modem, everything. But it is not a cable problem, it is my computer. I am using the internet on my laptop right with the same modem. Anyone have any tips on any kid of software errors that might cause this? Help is greatly apperciated.

from a command prompt, run a ipconfig /all & make sure when you rebooted that you were leased an address. If not make sure your nIC is enabled, dchp is enabled. Also, do you have Norton Internet Security?

Paste your IP settings and maybe that will tell us something

I know that dchp is enabled, I don't know what is and how to enable nIC. Interesting enough, during that one fatal computer boot, I had just uninstalled Zone Alarm. I have reinstalled it, taken off all firewall settings, then uninstalled to no avail.

do you have a router? or direct from modem to pc?

if you have a router you need to power things up in an order... router, then modem, then pc.. the modem needs to be linked to your routers MAC address, not the pc's
