you may or may not have heard of this deal already.

http://www.comcastoffers.com

6mb/384kb for 19.99/month for 6 months, 42.95 after.

no contract, so you can just cancel after the six months and sign up with a different name.

79.95 modem + 9.00 shipping = 88.95 - 49.95 broadbandoffers.com rebate - 30.00 product rebate = 9.00

19.99 x 6 months = 119.94 - 100 cash back rebate = 19.94

19.94 + 9.00 = 29.94 for 6 months, or 4.82/month

For a better deal, combine this with the deals from Staples, Dell, etc. You can actually make money by signing up for comcast cable. I signed up for about 4 or 5 of these deals at once and surprisingly got the rebates on them all.

After all the rebates, and your connected, there is a deal to have double the speed for $29 per month, and this deal is good for 12 months--works out to be cheaper than $19 for 6 months and then $42 for the next 6!

yeah but it's still money, and i'm poor. so 5 bucks a month (less than dialup) for cable, or if you own the modem, 3.14/month. i like the sound of that.

yup, you have to have comcast cable. i just got the box with the modem and cable stuff, and as it turns out, you still have to call up comcast and order the internet from them.

I am a bit ahead of you guys. I did this same deal last month. They seem to cycle the rebates every month. I just sent in my rebates on Tuesday but I bought the service and cable modem from these guys.

Be sure to verify that the discount code got applied to your bill. If so, you should have a credit that brings your internet service to $19.99. My first bill did not have this so I had to call and get Comcast to apply the offer again. Supposedly the billing dept can't do it and sales had to do it but it wasn't a huge hassle, just wasted time.
