Last night I was streaming a Quicktime HD 720p stream with no drop-outs on my 6 Mbps connection.

Roadrunner (in WI) is onyl 5meg down for the standard package. We just got notified at work that we have some discount we can get and can get upgraded to the BUsiness Class service for a cheap price. Only difference is instead of 384 up it's 512 up. down is still 5meg. what a crock.

A 100Mbit line?

Ours does not get consistent results at ALL with those speakeasy tests. The NY one is the fastest for us (duh). But it looks like they're not getting any faster. Stupid exchange server is on 100Mb card but upstream they have OC12 or better. They don't talk to us about it fearing it will get abused. Dumb IT people.

Still try the visualware link above.

On a 100Mbps line we get consistent results. The server uses that port quite hard. I'm sure if I stopped the exchange message attendant the bandwidth would be even better but that will cause I raise of fists and gnashing of teeth.

And as mentioned before, the speakeasy tests don't get as good or consistent results. Of course ridicule ME for knocking the test sites for testing home connections and not a commercial fiber line or whatever. Go have a tootsie roll wrapped in aluminum foil and see a dentist! :p

Wow University line seriously owns.

I love our 60 gigabit ethernet....

My 5-6MB/sec from gamespot downloads... ahhhh... My laptop hard drive being maxed out...

Home:

Your download speed : 5697777 bps, or 5564 kbps.
A 695.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 361159 bps, or 352 kbps.

Will try SBC tomorrow in my apartment. It sucks though. Stupid roommates demand 20 ping for CS and aren't satisfied with 40 ping with Comcast. Personally I take 6 Mbps over 3mbps DSL. I can play with 40 ping. Plus you'll never get 20 ping with BF2.

5mb/500kb up.
What burns me is I'm paying the premier price.
The tools at comcast actually sent me a flier saying we've upgraded your speed to 6mb down!!! This is what the premier service is in my area.(it was for the basic cable in my area)..I called them and they said we're sorry sir that must be a mistake...right..:|

I've had 10mbit down for a while now, Optimum Online ftw! Actually it sucks, you use that 1mbit up even a little bit and they start throttling you, the cheap bastiges :|

Download Speed: 9156 kbps (1144.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 912 kbps (114 KB/sec transfer rate)

I also use Optimum online and they whenever they detect an constant upload rate for more than a few minutes, your line gets capped to 20kbs
