Combining different memory?

Hey I just have a noob question regarding memory. I currently have 1 gig 2x512 of OCZ pc4000 ram, and I was wondering if I were to add another 1 gig of corair xms 4400 ram would it work? Thanks.

No, I don't think you can have different memory speeds at the same time, so you might be able to run the memory together but you would have to run the pc4400 at pc4000.

Ahh ok thanks, so 4400 speed memory would just clock down to 4000 speeds then? Would dual channal mode work for the ram or no ?
