Is this done safely with VLANS?
How about:
Static IPs on the company wireless laptops ( that never leave the facility, mounted on carts) and a DHCP server that puts the guests on a different VLAN?

I did it easily with Aruba wireless gear. I know Aironet can do it also.
Offer two SSIDs, encryption keys on the officeside, bonus points for using radius and WPA-Enterprise, other SSID "open" or in the case of the aruba gear, an access wall [captive portal] where they need a code issued to them.
Wireless itself doesn't understand VLAN tagging. SSID is basically the same thing however.
Thanks. I am looking at Ruckus right now, I have several APs and a director deployed in one client. It has a guest pass system to control access to the guest network.
New client, big sprawling facility and wanting a single wireless solution AND HIPAA compliance.
At the other facility I has a separate DSL/wireless setup for guests.
I would suspect that any of those 3 solutions would work for you (Ruckus, Aruba, Aironet). How most of them work now a days is some sort of encrypted tunnel to the controller (virtual controller in Ruckus) and then that controller can export a VLAN tagged frame based on SSID. From there it is just normal tagged frame.
