Any way to set printer to print colored text dark. Red or Yellow text prints almost invisibly.

I know nothing about that printer, but most printers come with the software that will allow you to change stuff like dpi and other color qualities. Check in the software or printer properties. Usually there is some type of calibration that is done when setting up the printer for the first time.

Check your printer's properties. Sounds like it is in draft mode.

BTW, does everyone realize this is a B+W laser printer. In properties, I don't see a "draft" mode. Only 600DPI and 300DPI settings, set to 600DPI. There is also Normal, Light and dark. Was on Normal, put to Dark, it looked the same. My other printer, an old HP 4L, does a much better job. I sent an e-mail to Lexmark tech support.

The colors should print as a "darker" shade of gray, by using 300dpi instead of 600dpi.

I had the same problem wih my H-P LaserJet 4000. I found that SOFTWARE would override my hardware settings and use ECONO-MODE and 600 dpi instead of 1200. That really made B&W photos look washed out. I fixed the software and made sure all the top quality settings were set in the laser printer. That worked.

Sorry about the color confusion - that was caused by the "yellow/red" text comment. The best way to handle that is to change the colored text to grayscale before printing.

Thanks. Finally found that setting the "accessibility" settings in "internet options" you can turn most of the colored text to b+w. Not ideal, but will do.
