Colored Bubbles

Wow, there's probably a lot more applications for that disappearing dye than just bubbles. Those guys are going to be rich.

Just watch, 10 years from now, it'll turn out that prolonged exposure to the residue will cause cancer. Sure it'd really suck, but somehow it wouldn't surprise me all that much either.

From the last page,
Among the ideas Kehoe has already mocked up are a finger paint that fades from every surface except a special paper

Is this the way that new Crayola Color Wonder paint works? If so, I wonder how that would work out with the factory they were referring to, to keep the formula a secret...

Yeah I read about this a while ago in PopSci... amazing stuff, but the guy went through some pretty dangerous mixes that burned and such before he got it right.

I was thinking the exact same thing!
Good article. Good luck to those guys. I'll buy some 😀

Then, I'll see if I can add it to my own special mix and make my own colored bubbles...
3 foot diameter bubbles. (Anyone with children: you've got to learn how to make giant bubbles from your own mix. Having children just gives you an excuse to play with the bubbles)

Those hula-hoop sized bubble wands produce amazingly-large bubbles. Now just think of them like that, but in color

I agree completely. I could see dissappearing markers in various time limits selling very well.

I believe a pen already exists that does this. I might have seen it in Edmund Scientific a few years ago. If I turn up a link, I'll post back. I'm sure I've seen it in a (legitimate) catalog though.

Edit: Heck, just type "disappearing ink pen" into Google and see what turns up. They aren't cheap, but they seem fairly prevalent.

You don't need a hula-hoop sized bubble wand... The trick to it is to use fabric with a stick and a slider... I'd need to draw a diagram.
