Artsy paint jobs from Case Arts...good if you want a weird-looking PSU or if you have a case with no windows ^_^

-LIMIT 2 PER CUSTOMER PER DAY. ADDITIONAL REQUESTED QUANTITIES MAY BE CANCELED OR CHANGED WITHOUT NOTICE

Anyone know anything about the quality of these PSUs?

The red one might go pretty well with my red theme-d case.

Edit: I don't even see a choice for color! Looks like your just rollin the dice with this one.

Ah hell, I'm in for 2. Can't beat that price for a decent 450w PSU. Even it's fugly, Krylon that sucker!

Going over to pick up one this afternoon. I bet they would let me
pick what design I wanted if I was there in front of them.
Which one is the least fugly? I don't know.

Directron says that a good rule of thumb for judging the quality of power supplies is by weight.

"Conclusions
This brief study clearly confirms an empirical knowledge: the quality of a power supply can be estimated by its weight.
Directron.com has pioneered this measurement and has now published the weights of all power supplies sold on Directron.com?s web site."

They don't list the weight for this one anywhere on their site that I can find. wtf??

$8.00 shipping to Seattle

Just got my shipping notification. UPS says 2 of these + packaging weighs in at just under 13 lbs. This sounds pretty promising. Sounds like 6 lbs each, roughly. Man, they shipped quick too!

Hey guys,

I got 2 of these the last time there was a sale. These are some high quality stuff. The construction is rock solid, and the paint coat is on there pretty tight. The actual graphics..., well my boy thought they were cool. However, mine came with 3 fans, and they seem to be a bit loud. Not intolerable, though. I would buy them again, if I needed them.

Is this deal still going on? I heard that these may be rebadged Enermax PSU's. Is that true?

Yeah,, both Enermax and Super Flower have their PSU's made by the same company. I have a 350w Enermax here and a 400w SF running in another comp; very good stuff. And it does look like the deal's still going on since it still has the sale price and they say "Sale Ends August 26, 2004 at 9pm or as long as inventory holds."

I went and picked mine up yesterday. VERY heavy.
Feels like a really nice, solid power supply. I didn't ask if
it was still going on though.

Looks like the deal is dead. When you click "Add to cart", it prompts you to the next page which states "Requested quantity not available for some items at this time. " 🙁

Directron seems to have this sale from time to time. I missed out on a sale that had 550watt for $19.99 (or something along the line) a month or two ago. I just kept on checking back and scored on this 450watt PSUs. Just keep on cheking! I'm sure there will be another one. When they have it, buy it. I am really impressed with this stuff. Besides, I'd rather get another CPU than pay $80 for a top name brand PSU.

I just got mine yesterday and it is a brick red color. Not offensive looking. The power supply is in a retail box and very heavy with 3 fans. I replaced a FuturePower supply in my AMD Tbird machine which I believe was preventing the system from booting sometimes. It booted up on first try and it is quieter than the Futurepower which has 2 fans. So far I'm very happy with this purchase and I will probably pick up another one when they go on sale again.
