BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) - A new soft drink made in Colombia may not be cola but it's definitely coca.

A Nasa native company in southern Colombia has created a golden, carbonated drink made from coca leaf extract and they plan to market it as an alternative to Coca-Cola.

Coca ****** goes on sale this week in parts of Colombia but its makers said they probably won't be able to export to the United States or most other countries due to rules blocking the entry of raw coca, the plant from which cocaine is refined.

wonder if that'll reach the US. most likely not :(

Wasn't the whole point of coca-cola the fact that it contained both coca and cola?

I encourage everyone to try Cola with real Kola nut in it.

You can buy powdered Kola nut online for $1/ounce. It's delicious, and it packs a hell of a caffeine punch. Adding a spoonful to a glass of Coca Cola or Diet Coke makes it taste delicious, because it brings out the real flavor of the beverage. It also mixes very well with fruit juices -- one part pineapple juice, one part water (or alcohol to taste) and a spoonful of Kola makes for a delicious beverage with a lot of caffeine.

Coca Cola orginally contained a barely tracable amount of cocaine, but you'd probably have to drink dozens of gallons of it to equal the amount of coke you'd have if you say, "did a line."

But not that I'd know, I'm never done drugs of any sort. Drugs are for the lower classes.

Abuse of drugs is for the lower class. Upper class people are smart enough to not let drugs negatively impact their lives -- or at least a lot of upper class people are that smart. Look at the acceptance of marijuana in current youth culture, shown by the attitude towards weed in new-ish movies like The 40 Year Old Virgin.

If by that post you are stating that he is incorrect in his statement, then you are in fact wrong, because he is right, this obviously got banned, and this was where the name CocaCola came from

Not to get into this discussion again, as we've had it before. But all demographic groups are at risk of almost anything. But the numbers go up as income goes down, that's just a fact with almost every statistic. Every group uses it, but others use it more.

But when speaking of certain drugs, real heavy ones, if you even used it a little, I would imagine it would be hard for anyone to be able to control it. I've never heard of anyone being able to responsibly use "meth" or "crack."

But marijuana, in my opinion, is equal to alcohol. I don't think it's as big of a deal as people make of it, but it can be a gateway drug, which is why keeping it illegal is justified.
