Currently I am a student at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Yeah I know, who's ever heard of that... anyway, I am thinking that this small liberal arts college won't get me very far in the tech industry and am just trying to get some input from other ananders on their thoughts of good schools for computer engineering/science. I have done tons of searches, talked to advisors and everything but I am still pretty up in the air about the whole thing and I would just like to get the broadest opinions possible on the subject. thanks in advance...

Just choose a good school. Most of all do well and know what the frick you are doing.
This is what my CS / CE friends tell me.
but then again I could eb wrong. I'm chemistry.

How about in the schools in CA. I know about Stanford and Berkely, Cal is my first choice, Stanford sounds too preppy for me (plus I probably couldn't get in 🙂

Other than those two, which schools have good reps for their CS programs?

TIA,
Cameron

you know i've never really understood exactly how one school can have a "better CS program " than another. I dont even go to lecture most of the time, most people who program learn it on their own debugging as it is, its not something that really needs to be taught, i think class is just there to make you do work and force you to learn.
