College Should be FREE

Kalamazoo here in MI is offering free college to kids who stay in the disctict from k-12.

If they can do it, why can't the rest of the country?

I'm not one for 'free hand outs', but the truth is most young adults got to college even if they can't afford it by incurring huge loans that are a burden for a good chunk of their lives.

Racking up billions in long term loans in my mind is far more damaging than simply allowing for free college tuition, even if it raises taxes.

yeah a few places have that. if you are in from k-12 and graduate with like a B or better college is paid for. though i think thats more of local stuff then government.

I wish... I was #1 in my class and didn't get sh!t when I went to college.

I graduated college at 19 with a 3.77 gpa and didn't get anything either. So the scholarship system isn't perfect, but still, isn't the point of scholarships to assist people who show merit and/or need in some way?
