College question: Where to buy sheets, etc?

Ok, well I'm off to the University of Miami in the fall, and I'm beginning to feel the hurt of being poor...

I am going on a scholarship, but it's not enough to cover everything (I have to pay about $7000 a year) and well they are ripping me off on everything, including bed linen.

I need to find a place (store or website) that sells a package of sheets, comforter, etc that fits a specific size of a bed... apparently the matresses at UM do not fit normal sheets....

So, any recommendations?

Use the 20% off coupons for Bed Bath & Beyond that come in the mail all the time...

Good luck in UM! I might be down there in a year for law school..... For now, i got one more month up here at UF...

Yeah, Walmart is a good place to start. Does Ikea sell sheets? They got a lot of cheap stuff there too.

Just wait until school nearly starts, they will be on sale everywhere. It'll be extra long twin size sheets, but you can use regular sized comforters.

The fricking mall... JC Penny, Sears, any department store.

BTW, They sell toilet paper at the grocery store, and you can get notebooks at Office Depot. Just thought I'd let you know so you don't have to start threads about those.

Don't ruin it for him, apparently he thinks UM has pentagonally shaped beds. 😉

Wait wait wait... so let me get this straight... they special order toilet paper catalogue I've been recieving and ordering from for years is NOT the only way to get specialty wiping paper?

And I know about Office depot and their notebooks,.. that's where I went if the catalogue was delayed in case of emergency. 😉

Ok cool... So just Twin-longs eh? Stupid UM wanted me to pay $200 for a pack... that and $120 for a PCMIA network card (not wireless even)....

Argh I hate when people try to rip me off...

department stores have "white" sales where bed/bath crap goes of sale..look for one of these to ghet a good price..sam's club and walmart not bad ideas either (check out target as well)

if you want "SUPER" cheap..start going to garage sales in a "nice" neighborhood..check the sunday paper for garage sale announcements..

\you can pick stuff up for cheap cheap cheap if your willing to scrounge around (i'm talking for 25 cents!) and go early to a garage sale..

No, I think he was giving a serious suggestion. I went with my mom and sister and I ended up having to tell them that they were suggesting too much stuff for me to take.

Hell of alot easier than trying to figure everything out yourself 🙂

Sheets? Don't be spoiled, I slept on old newspapers for 4 years while I was an undergrad. College newspapers are "free" so get your money's worth.
