Puppy chow.

*seriously* Lots of pasta with meat balls, baked breaded skinless chicken with mushroom soup as dressing, friend rice, and clam chowder. And yes, I make all of those by hand (except the stuff that already comes in cans or whatever).

The freezer isle is your friend. Check out stuff from Budget Gormet, Banquet, Patio and Michelinas. Most are under a buck! Pick up some microwavable burritos (sometimes as cheap as 30 cents!). They've got yummy quarts of drinkable yogurt in various flavors now too for under 2 bucks (good for breakfast). Don't forget a few boxes of granola bars when you're on the go! When not at the Dining Hall eating the closest thing to real food, I usually drink Powerade, Gatorade and Sprite. And beer. But not if you're of age yet, bud. ;)

I can get a crap load of good food that will keep me stocked for at least 2 weeks (while still utilizing the dining hall once a day!) for $25. See what you can do! :)

Totinos pizza rules, 99cts a pop but, really bad for you so only eat them in that stumble home to drunk to cook situations, in which you are craving food.
Just make sure you don't leave the oven on:)o).

buy bags of uncooked chicken breasts, and spices to season them.

Pasta is your friend, good, easy, and cheap.

Buy rice, and then buy frozen vegatable packs preferably of oriental style and a little soy sauce, and maybe one of those cut up chicken breasts (from other suggestion) and you have got stir fry for cheap.
Mexicain rice also very easy to make and you can eat it on tortillas for a good cheap meal

Tuna is also a awesome thing to have around because it is cheap and you can eat many different ways, I prefer Albacore tuna or any tuna in the pouch because it just tastes better but, it is more expensive. Tuna salad on toasted rye is awesome.

For more protien you might keep a bag of shelled peanuts around (shelled is cheaper and will keep you from eating a whole bunch of them)

Something that I really like, I don't know if they have them in your area or not but, Zatarains boxed rice cajun dishes where you just add meat are really really good if you like cajun food.

CORN DOGS AND HAMBURGER HELPER!

thats ALL i eat. frozen chicken frank corn dogs from foster farms ... heat in microwave, toast in toaster for the pseudo-deep fried taste. hamburger helper gives you the good feeling that you're cooking but you're not.

other than that there's always jack in the box! =)

Ahem, what? Um, there's an alternative to ramen, sandwiches, and microwave meals? I had 8 sandwiches today. Is that bad?

Here's a meal for you: canned food, dip with bread, and wash down with milk. Repeat until 1) marriage, or 2) death.

I was eating chicken (baked) with rice for a while, but that takes too long to prepare. Basically, almost anything that requires the stove takes too long, and is not usually not worth the effort. I eat 4-5 times a day... no way I'm going to spend 30 minutes chopping, peeling, boiling, etc. The key is to eat only 1 thing (a main entree), and eat it until you get sick of it. Then switch to something else, and eat that. Get a few staple foods to rotate for the rest of your life. Right now I'm on sandwiches. Before this, I was on cereal.

Hell yeah, we make hamburgers all the time with it. Not to mention the grilled cheese sandwiches.

If you've got a Foreman Grill, your halfway home. You've got a freezer? USE IT. Buy meats at the supermarket and stick them in the freezer. I keep my freezer stocked with fish (frozen fish dirt cheap at Trader Joe's if there is one near you, but fresh fish from the supermarket freezes well enough), chicken (frozen chicken tenderloins you can get in huge bags for like $20 at Sam's/BJs type places), vegetables, steaks, rolls, etc.

Buy the leanest ground beef you can find, make REAL burgers, individually wrap and freeze them. They're a lot better than those crappy prefab patties.

If you forget to put your meat in the fridge to thaw it, just thaw it in the microwave on a low-power or defrost setting.

I have some McCormick no-salt lemon-pepper seasoning for the fish, Montreal Steak Seasoning is great on steaks and burgers.

For sides, steam some veggies (you can do this in the microwave if you're too lazy/cheap to use a saucepan and steamer), and have some pasta or rice.

The George Foreman grill is God's gift to college students, as is a portable rice cooker. Get you some frozen chicken breasts and steaks, and you're golden.

STOVETOP STUFFING

It doesn't get much easier than throwing the mix in boiling water, stirring, then eating straight out of the pot. Hehe. :)

When I was in University we used to cook hotdogs in a toaster. Just stand em straight up. You can even put a bun over the top of the toaster to toast that.

Damn that was sick.

Buy this book.

Learn how to cook. We don't really eat out much any more since I or my wife can whip up stuff that is as good or better than most restaurant food. Cheaper too. :)
