college kids: have you gone to class intoxicated?

Nope. The worst I did was go to class after using Actifed for the first time. Bzzzzzzzz Bzzzzzzz Bzzzzzzz. Everything is buzzing in a non-committal sort of way.

i did it multiple times; my favorite time though, was when we were having a french review session on the quad (in the spring) and this girl in my class and I decided to pregame it. I had 10 or so shots of crown, she didn't have as much but she was a good drinker for being female...6 or 7 probably. We mixed the rest of the crown into a couple of cokes and took it with us. I didn't review any French that day, but I had an amazing time on the quad. The event basically turned into a big social gathering. The prof was cool...and pretty hot 😉

Never been to class drunk but have had a drink or two before afternoon class if I was getting lunch at the bar.

I used to work in Denmark and when we had to work late we would go out to get some food and beer to bring back and we would get reimbursed for it too🙂 I've read it's changing a lot but until a few years ago a lot of company cafeterias there had beer, drinking was ok, being drunk was not.
 
Hell, I've gotten drunk DURING class, mind you, this was high school. Buddy had a water bottle with vodka left from earlier, so I drank about half during French class.
 
I was a college kid and I did.

it was basically how I successfully got through every speech / presentation I had to do during college. not rip roaring drunk or anything, but a nice solid buzz to help me relax.

I took my ochem final high of my ass. Ended up doing better on the final than I had on any exams during the semester.

Sometimes in college you're forced to take classes that you don't really give a crap about. They were called gen eds at my undergrad university, don't know what they might be called elsewhere and I know that some universities don't use them.

For example, science major + generic middle school level greek mythology course?
 
Never. What's the point of going to class if you're going to be intoxicated? I go to class to learn - I can have my drinking fun later in the day.

You should be glad you didn't go to my school. We pride ourselves on the Core curriculum. It's something like 18-21 course spread between history (civilization), humanities, art/music/drama, social science, biology, physical sciences, and mathematics. On top of that, you also have to have a minimum of a year of language with verbal competency.

I'm a biochemistry major in my 2nd year - sometimes my social science class is boring and the reading is tedious, but I enjoy it. I've read some great books that I would never have touched if I didn't take those core classes.
