Just tonite, I was handed tickets to the UCLA (my father-in-law is an alum) against Cal (my team) game at the Rose Bowl (My FIL will be out of town).

I usually go to one UCLA game a year when my FIL cannot use them. I always try to go to the Cal game, but it only works out every other time or so (i.e. every 5th year!).

I'll be in South Carolina next Monday to watch my Noles break in their new offensive coaching staff against Clemson. I hope it's a more compelling game than the FSU/Miami openers have been recently.

I'm glad I clicked on this thread as it alerted me that this weekend I gotta (a) avoid the Bay Bridge, (b) avoid trying to drive on College Ave. on Saturday. I live just off College, and on game days I walk faster than traffic flows.

Not going to any home Cal games, though. 😛 I'm a crusty old man with creaky knees. The stadium is just too uncomfortable. Hopefully if they ever get the rebuild going it'll provide more leg room.

You guys should do better than that dismal 35-18 loss last year considering Ainge was out all spring recouping from knee surgery, we've lost three of our best receivers (and their replacements suck), and our starting TE is out for, probably, the remainder on the season due to some stupid injury in the last scrimmage game. Not to mention Wilhoit is finally gone...that makes me sad. He kicked an awesome 50yarder against Florida for the win in '04...never will forget that (crappy video, but it shows the emotion that everyone at Neyland had when that happened).

Come on, it was 35-18 last year. LINK Ainge will be perfectly fine since his knee was only scoped. The TE is a small loss since there is still a Sr TE out there (who scored the 1st TD vs Cal last year) plus 2 more top recruits. The WR's do not suck but are young. One of them played @ FSU 2 years ago and they were all high recruits. The game this year may be closer but will have the same result.
