Beat up Civic.

Oh, sporty? H22 swap. :p

Gone in 20 seconds. Don't get a Civic unless you can park it in a locked garage.

Only if you cover it in decal-bukakke and/or rice the hell out of it. A slighty beat-up, ten-year-old, possibly rusty four-door with no exterior mods could be left unlocked downtown and wouldn't be touched. :p

It's the one with the "Honda Powered" windshield banner, fartcan, and neon-lit stereo that gets ripped off.

wasn't there a guy on ATOT with a beat up civic DX hatch with no mods got broken into by a hobo to take a nap in it?
hahaha

Not funny :p.

Ya that guy was me, the only things i had on my car was surf racks and i did have slightly tinted windows.
On another note, he was shooting up in my car not just taking a nap :p. I have it in a garage now lol. civics still kick ass.

*edit*
The car is not beat up at all, its only a 94 with 55k miles no dents interior and exterior are in perfect shape. I bought it from a senior citizen for $2,900

For a college car and for $4-5000, you need to get what you CAN FIND. Being picky about what you want is mostly out of the question.

You be a complete MORON to worry about how a car looks and whether it is going to get you laid or anything dumb like that, you need to worry about how much repairs are going to cost, what kind of condition it is in (to prevent said repairs), how much gas is going to cost, and whether or not you can fit your friends in it to go out and have fun. Don't forget that parking at college can often be expensive. Sure, you should get something that is comfortable and isn't embarassing, but if you are on a budget now, with a fast car you will be likely to get in trouble and thus have to pay expensive fines.

Like someone said, you need a car that you won't mind getting a bit beat on, because it will happen in college, and most of the jackasses there don't give two craps in they nail your car with their door.

Worry about getting a sweet ride when you are out of college and have a great job.
